A not so simple demand

 Years went by

Avoiding 

My heart 

I feared 

It’s demand

Careers are hard to build

Family and friendship too

Were not easy to keep

My heart too

Didn’t complain much

But blocked my access 

To beauty

To love

To joy 

To spontaneity 

To sensitivity 

Finally

I relented 

To my surprise 

It demanded some idle time

In balcony alone

With a glass of cool drink

Listening to the birds

The instructions was clear

Take up the problems of the work later

Soon my body rested 

And was feeling sleepy

And my heart said

Now just smile and 

go to sleep

As I walk

As I walk 

Everything around

Beautiful and bright and warm

my heart not so 

Plagued by fear

Robbed by confusion

And I keep walking 

With a small ray of hope

Of  living a life

Intensely 

Peacefully 

But the mischievous seductress 

Would not let it be 

Easy

The glimpses were enough

For the heart to 

Pass ages in 

Waiting

Hoping

Struggling 

And then it arrived

And brought with it

A cold wind

And a desert around 

And I walk

In the desert 

With a smile around 

Against the bitterness

 As you grow

You hurt people 

And you are hurt by them

They don’t intend 

To hurt

Neither do you

It’s just about

Self protection 

Which I don’t forgive

Neither to myself

Obviously, nor to others

And the 

Dragons of life

Are sniffing behind my back

Close the doors

Make the walls 

Isolate 

Annihilate 

Yet,

In my solitude

I see the innocent being 

The child who wants to play and dance 

And I see the same in others too

I stand up

Look deep in the eyes

Bone deep 

And say hi to the child

In you 

From the child

In me 

Dragons are here

 I slept tonight

Ages have gone by

But I tell you 

I have only slept tonight

I danced tonight

But I tell you 

The universe danced as well

I have heard stories 

Of kings and Queens

And I tell you

I was the king

Tonight 

Let’s talk about the weather today

 I am 100 years old

And I bask in the sunlight 

Spread my arms

And dance with the ether 

Mischievously blow in the hearts

And whisper in the ears

 Abandon Abandon Abandon

The fight 

To love and dance 

Is your legitimate right

Way of love

There is only one

 truth of life

To love

Anything else

Is an illusion 

All my true relationships

Was of love

All my true work

Was of love

Even my true tears

Was of love

Love is the magic

In this existential maze of life

Love is the one

Consciousness 

To live is to love 

To love is to live 

Eternity and beyond

 Love can only quench the thirst

Called life

And I wonder

The origin of consciousness 

May be

It was an explosion of the insatiable need 

To explore love

Love pulls

And pushes 

All the stories 

We remember

Are manifestations  of love

As if love is the ink 

With which life is written

It is also the story

And the writer

Love is the music

And we are the flute

And I wish

That love finds you
